Our Journey

You are:
My happily ever after, My blessing, My gift, My dream come true, My one and only, My shoulder to lean on, My everything My love.
Forever and Always

At first sight (Reconnecting)

It was a church in the middle of nowhere. Desireé was not supposed to be there that day but decided to accompany her friends Debbie and Arlene at the last minute. Ricardo was singing with his group. Their eyes met as they were leaving church, and a hesitant "hello", a comforting embrace, and a long conversation, was the beginning of an adventure…a love affair that would intertwine their hearts and lives forever.

First Date

Almost six months later, after months of innocent small-talk, Ricardo finally decided to take the baton and ask Desireé on their first date and she decided to see what this young man was made of. A first date it was; a walk in the park, polaroid photos and frozen yoghurt, was all it took for Desireé to know he was the one. Ricardo wasn't so sure about that, he was just enjoying the company of this beautiful lady he had long admired. Butterflies? Just for him maybe, but for her, it was just a quiet acknowledgement that this caring guy was different, and refreshing...and that he was the one she had been praying for. But they were both determined to play it by ear.

Long Distance…no problem?

The test came shortly after, and started with a simple open-ended question, “what if I told you I would be going away soon, for a couple years?” Silence, and then a sigh...and his sincere response, further confirmed her first impressions of what a rare and caring guy he was. Throughout the entire planning process, Ricardo was supportive. Soon the time came for her to leave. An emotional moment they were both dreading, which is why Ricardo decided not to accompany her and her family to the airport, he figured a goodbye over the phone was easier to swallow than watching the love of his life walk away. A family picnic, a midnight profession of love, a “photoshoot” at the waterfront a kiss goodbye in the bus park would be their last face-to-face moments for a while. And after just two months of dating, Desireé left for Brazil. They didn’t know much, and they weren't certain of anything, but they were certain that what was to be would be.

Reunited at Last

Throughout those years apart, Ricardo and Desireé’s bond only got tighter. Midnight conversations, nightly prayers, the use of social media, an unswerving commitment to each other and a definite end in sight, all helped to keep their love alive. Then on April 7, 2017, two years and two months later, they were reunited never missing a beat in their relationship. With Ricardo living in Montego Bay and Desireé living in St. Catherine, the distance was still there. However after years of being apart that did not daunt them one bit.

First Step To Forever

Ricardo knew he wanted to make Desireé his wife, and he wanted to make the moment he asked special. He was worried because Desireé claimed he couldn’t surprise her, and she wasn’t one for surprises anyway. Inspite of what she thought, Ricardo lovingly plotted with her supportive family, and on November 4, 2017 simply took her breath away in a romantic and intimate setting, surrounded by their loved ones. With a sincere, and heartfelt profession of his love, she could do no more than tearfully speak that three letter word, that they both knew was inevitable; YES! It was the first step to forever, and forever cannot come soon enough for them. With God in the midst, Ricardo and Desireé’s love, is that cord that cannot be broken. He is the calm to her storm, and she is the fire to his soul, and together they are each other’s answered prayer.

Our Family

Family is a unique gift that needs to be appreciated and treasured, even when they're driving you crazy. As much as they make you mad, interrupt you, annoy you, curse at you, try to control you, these are the people who know you the best and who love you.
